Now that spring is here and school is almost over, what are your kids doing this summer? Wascana Centre has introduced a brand-new programming opportunity – Sprouts Garden Day Camp! Sprouts will focus on nature in and around our gardens, learning all about plants and exploring the greenhouse and much more. It’s guaranteed to be an unbe-leaf-able time as we branch out to different plant topics.

A typical day for Sprouts would include several hands-on experiences and gardening activities throughout the day. This includes time for snacks and breaks, exploring the Habitat Conservation Area, touring Wascana’s large greenhouse, and exciting activities like creating seed paper, pond dipping, constructing insect homes, plant geocaching, making terrariums, and so much more!

COST: $200

LOCATION: 435 Assiniboine Ave East

REGISTRATION: If you would like to register please feel free to contact sarah.romuld@gov.sk.ca or call 306-522-3661.

SPROUTS DAY CAMP QUESTIONS

What time is drop off and pick-up?

Little Spouts can be dropped off from 8:30am – 9:00am. Pickup is between 4:00pm – 4:30pm.

What should my child bring/wear?

Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately to participate in activities indoors and outdoors. (If the weather is not deemed safe for outdoor activities, we will continue indoors.) Sun gear like sunscreen, hats and water bottles are strongly recommended. Any form of insect repellant is recommended for exploring in the Habitat Conservation Area and gardening. With the amount of outdoor play we will be doing, closed toed shoes would be beneficial.

The only other supplies your child will need are two snacks for morning and afternoon breaks and a lunch. Please ensure that all foods are nut-free.

Are electronic devices permitted?

To avoid loss or damage, please leave electronic devices at home. Staff will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.
